Why specifically Norton? Why not something free, at least, such as AVG. I get the impression you've been trying Norton illegally, although I may be quite mistaken; in which case I humbly apologise.

Norton should work on media center edition as far as I am aware of... considering our geek squad have installed it on new machines with media center.

Personally I use and recommend pc-cillin.

I use nothing and recommend AVG, esp. since it beats all the rest on price and pointless system load.

If you are going to use Norton I'd recommend the corporate version. All the other versions try to do so much more (firewall, popup blocking, broken email scanning, spyware removal, etc) that they really slow down and mess up your computer. I've had home version of norton leave my computer in a less usable state than the viruses. Running Corp. version on MCE right now.

I don't get viruses because I use linux. :P

On my XP box I use Avast though (It's free). I'm not sure how god it is, because I've never got any viruses on that computer either.

ya ive been using AVG, adwareSE, spybot and ccleaner.
They destryed most of the virus but its still working because there are some files which are running all the time and when I try to delete them it says acces denied another program is ussing it. im sure there the source of the problem but none of the programs im using detect it what should I do?

Google for the files you think are part of the problem. Google for error messages you get (in quotes). Google for any combination of things you think are related to your virus. Chances are someone else had the same problem, and chances are someone explained to them how to get rid of it.

You should be able to delete them in safe mode
