Has any one noticed that the OS-Dev Wiki here at mega-tokyo appears as OS FAW Wiki? ???

Ermm... ok... Google links to a different wiki than the banner in here. Google links to the directory osfaq2 (where I always went) and the banner goes to osfaq (presumably a new copy or something?).

I Got the same resault with "os faq":
OS-FAW Wiki
This is the "write your own Operating System" OS-FAQ . It is presented as a WikiWikiWeb
(See more links about Wiki's at the bottom of this page).

I found the source, the typo is coming from the DMOZ whose data is included by many search/directory sites. You can see the entry here: http://dmoz.org/Computers/Programming/O ... g_Systems/ . I pointed out the typo to the editor of that category so it should get fixed soon.

The "original" URL of the FAQ was mega-tokyo.com/osfaq2/index.php/PageName. When I did the update of the Wiki software, I did set it up so that the very same content is available at mega-tokyo.com/osfaq/PageName, which is shorter and more practical. Thus, I changed the banner link to the new URL. It's still only one PhpWiki installation, so it doesn't hurt anybody to keep both URLs functional - but the new URL should be preferred.

Where the "FAW" came from, Chase@OSDev explained.
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.

I guess I spoke too quickly about it getting fixed "soon". I've sent in the correction twice now. Not sure why it's not getting fixed but I found the email address for the editor and emailed him directly, we'll see what happens.

Fixed in DMOZ now, hopefully changes don't take too long to show up in Google.
