Which payment processors for digital products do you use?
Which payment processors for digital products do you use?
Hi, I’ve been releasing a paid CLI tool for three weeks now it’s a single-user license, and the product itself isn’t very complicated. The problem is the payment side of things right now I’m handling everything manually, from invoices to bank transfers, and with about a dozen sales this month, I’m already spending hours just chasing down people who forget to confirm their transfers and cross-checking invoices one by one; it’s starting to get out of hand. Personally, I’m a freelance developer working out of my studio in Rennes, so I don’t have a team to handle this on the side I do everything myself… and honestly, between development and paperwork, I’m wasting a crazy amount of time every week. So I’m looking into what payment processors for digital products are out there, just to automate all this without eating into my profit margin too much. Of course, it depends on the use case a CLI sold as a one-time purchase isn’t the same as a subscription or a plugin with updates. But I’m curious what others here who sell tools or plugins as side projects actually use. What do you guys use to process payments without spending hours on it every time a customer pays?

Nah, I'm definitely a real person and I'm actually in Rennes. I've been running a VPN for a few hours a day this past week to check how my sales page displays prices and currencies in different countries, so the IP location probably looks a bit random depending on where I'm testing from.
Yesterday I was apparently in Brazil while sitting in my own studio... As for proof, the Marché des Lices is still on every Saturday morning, if that helps settle the Rennes question.
In between tests, I'm still looking at payment processors for digital products. I'd like to get that sorted out before the next release.m
