Since I can't reply there, I'll add my comments here.

The new forum is getting nicer but theres some things though like the "vertical classic" if you check post #27 in "problems and what have you" in this thread his vertical line is further out. Another thing is that there should be a minimum height for post again #27 post shows that people can miss it very easily.

I'm not sure why the sides of the forum is just wasted space though, why not use up the entire width? Its also nice to be able to choose a "theme" for people from MT to be able to use the blue background and everything else as close as possible with MT that were so used to.. but overall its looking much more decent then the last time I was here.

I agree on the themes point. The Mega-Tokyo forums will always be lighter blue on darker blue in my heart ;D

Try the quick reply so you can test it, for some reason the reply page doesn't work for me but the quick reply does.

@Kemp: A bit of self-promote-ment, but if you look in the sticky "OS DEV Forum is Moving" I posted a Stylish (FFox extension) style to make the new forums look like these.

Also, I'd like to say overall I'm really happy with the new forums now that the major bugs have been worked out.

Either one doesn't work for me.. the post layout go all weird when the window is not maximumized as well. The vertical line in classic mode seems to be drawn one pixel too high but its only minor, just thought I mention that..

Do you have Javascript turned off or partially disabled? From a quick glance the osdever forum requires lots of Javascript.

Javascript is enabled but at high safty level.. I have some things such as unsafe active-x disabled and managed add-ons disabled as well. Better yet, what exactly needs to be turned on to be able to post?

Heres a picture of how funny things look once its not maximumized: http://70.30.110.47/osdev.gif

I have no idea, I do some web development and run a website or two of my own and the standard problem for a form that won't submit is an onclick function that doesn't execute. I posted a message on the osdever form linking to this one so the guys over there should be aware of the problem. In case it is a browser/Javascript problem you might want to list your OS/browser/version/settings/plugins so they can test.

Ryu, thanks for the screenshot, some interesting rendering there by IE...

What version of IE are you using, and what's your screen res?

FYI, I'm working on making replying/posting work correctly when folks have javascript turned off.

IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158 (one came with XP+SP2), resolution I use is 1088x612, and the picture I've taken there was when the window isn't maximized (what was magnified isn't actually there).

IE sucks with dimension math, your issue, ryu, will only happen at smaller resolutions i believe. I tried on IE6 at full screen and it was ok, tried at 800x600 and it popped up.

BEGIN RANT

I'll still try to fix it though. I don't understand why you don't get a better browser? Opera, Firefox, gosh even netscape. IE is no compliant and is not accurate at rendering html nor CSS.

why can't people move on? IE is crap!

END RANT

People will not move on to other browsers because IE is pre-installed on every computer with windows. The only way people would ever switch is if these computer manufacturer's started pre-installing firefox/opera/etc into them before they reach the consumer.

There are several scenarios where people cannot "move on", because they are not in control of the software installed on their systems / allowed in their networks, or because they have to use other websites that work only with IE (and are reluctant to use seperate browsers).
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.

Basically it does the job. IE may be the worst browser out there I don't really know and care, but many people still use it, and that alone should be good enough reason to lure the percentage of people that use IE. Or you could just put up at great big sign saying IE users not allowed in the new forums, which ever you see best for the forums. :)

Btw. What Is the planned date now? I thought it was last saturday to move the forum.
