I am chinese
Re:os web site
Your english is good, except for punctuation (comma's, dots, capitals). However, you type in full caps (which is very rude and equal to shouting) and you are very very offtopic in a thread.IAMCHINESE wrote: HELLO I AM CHINESE

Re:os web site
All nice and dandy, mr. iamchinese, but nevertheless I do not enjoy being shouted at.
Further it's not very likely that you "make" friends in exacty this forum. We're very specialised on Operating Systems and despite the occasional off-topic discussion sparking off we enjoy discussing with strong focus on the topic.
You might find the off-topic forum far more useful for your endeavour, eh?
And ... as we are talking about it ... I will not talk to you in simple blahblah english. If you don't understand a word, ask, ok?
stay safe
@topic: this very site as well as our osfaq are very useful, eh? www.osdever.net comes in handy too.

BI, speak for yourself. I've made quite some great friends on here... but from the AGI part of the forum.
@IamChinese: Welcome to the forums If you need any help with English, just ask. It's not that hard once you got the basics.
As for this forum... those OS-devers keep claiming this place's an OS-dev place, but it's got other communities as well. There's an entire, helpful and good-natured AGI community (AGI's a style of adventure games by Sierra, from halfway the '80s) and a just-as-extensive SCI community (SCI being AGI's younger brother). They're not half as grouchy as the OS devers.
...
...
Now I hope those from the OS part didn't hear that ;D

Oi. Did we dev'er types appear so unfriendly?Kon-Tiki wrote: BI, speak for yourself. I've made quite some great friends on here... but from the AGI part of the forum.
Actually, this was primarily an AGI / Sierra place, predating the OS forum by half a year - but the OS forum is by far the busiest by now.As for this forum... those OS-devers keep claiming this place's an OS-dev place, but it's got other communities as well.
Grouchy? Aww, come on. We just have a bit more than our share of complete n00bs, which at times starts becoming stressful. After almost 15 years of Usenet and forum experience, I'd say the bunch over in the OS / Programming section is about the most knowledgable, helpful and friendliest group of dev'ers you are likely to find on the internet. There's an entire, helpful and good-natured AGI community...
They're not half as grouchy as the OS devers.
But I agree that developers tend to be a bit more "grouchy" than gamers.
You better believe we did. ;DNow I hope those from the OS part didn't hear that ;D
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.

Re:I am chinese
@Solar: *rofl* I'm the known Prototype of an unfriendly, gruffy viennese OS Dever, so I don't mind that special comment. I've intended to place a retort, but what the heck, shall he have some fun, eh?
Besides, I don't think we Dev'ers are grouchy - reminds me of "The Grouch" btw - I think we tend to talk plainly than to use lotsa words to create a warm and fuzzy feeling around.
Just my 4 eurocent.
