I'm downloading the Solaris10 OS and plan to burn them on cd's , the files are ISO images which are zipped.
These are the instructions given on the Sun site.
I'm not sure if i understood the part explaining how those ISO files are burned on CDs. btw I have Nero 6.3.0.2
Burning an ISO image
Re:Burning an ISO image
This should be in Nero's helpfile. The burning part, that is, since they might not tell you what to do with compressed files, since they would assume you know you ought to uncompress the image before you burn it to the CD.
So: unzip them. Then, Nero should have an option when you tell it to burn a CD to locate an ISO and burn it to the disk. Locate the ISO with the filepicker Nero gives you, and instruct Nero to write it to the blank CD in the CD-writer. Lather, rinse, repeat as needed for all the ISOs. That's the procedure as my mind recalls. Without Nero on hand though, I can't give you the precise steps.
Also, I'd make sure the disks are numbered or in some other way labeled so you don't have to go experimenting trying to find what disk is the disk the installer is asking for. And just so you know what's on them.

And also, make sure you use good quality discs, not cheap 2 cent ones. I tried using cheap discs on my Solaris 10 installation and it (the computer) wouldn't even read them, let alone boot from them.
Isn't it simply a matter of unzipping the ISO as you would any other file and then going into Nero, going into "Copy and Backup", and clicking "Burn Image To Disc", then selecting the file that you want? Make sure that on the File Type drop down menu at the file selector you select "All Image Files", rather than the default "All Nero Compilations and Images". If you don't you may wonder why you can't see any of the disc images.
And make sure that you do number the discs, otherwise it won't work, especially if you try and use #3 instead of #1

Re:Burning an ISO image
From the instructions::
Where are these files?Once you have created the CDs, print and attach the label files.
Re:Burning an ISO image
I don't know, but I would also just as soon tell you to ignore that part and just label the burned CDs yourself with OS name, version, architecture, disk #, etc using a permanent marker.
