*Out of topic* About med editor
I know this is not the place for this but most of you-I guess- use med text editor for os development. I use it for a few years and think that it is the best programming editor I used. But I want more... I mean I want to implement some plugins for med but I need some interface for writing a plug-in for it. (Indeed I havent written a plug-in for any program but whenever I examin its built-in plug-ins, they are nothing but a dll file)
Those are what I want to implement:
- Collapsable and expandable functions.(Like some editors, such as wscite and some visual languages editors)
- A window showing clibboard contents
Any ideas about writing plug-in for med will be appreciated. And also Ill be glad if you write what you want from a programming! editor -especially for os development- that med doesnt have...
Behave yourself well...

Re:*Out of topic* About med editor
Well I've never heard of it, I personally use Crimson Editor for most of it, MSVC++6/MSVC++7 sometimes, othertimes DevC++ or even notepad/wordpad.
It seems most the people here either use Linux with the KDE Editor or DevC++/MSVC++ if they use Windows.

Never heard of it either - I use gedit ::), just because it has not yet _failed_ in any of my requirements!
But is there really no official documentation for creating plugins? A simple google search gave me this link:
http://www.conitec.net/a4update.htm
In the middle you find a section "MED" with download links for plugin SDK's, they should also contain samples as well as - I guess - docs.
cheers Joe

Ditto, never heard of it either. Notepad's my current editor of choice (or Notepad 2 rather).

As for MED,
-non-free, closed-source, costs money
-no linux version

MED is not free software. You may use this software for evaluation purposes without charge for a period of 30 days. If you use this software after the 30 day evaluation period, a registration fee is required. A single lifetime license costs US$ 30 (EUR 25.-).

*thinks it's going to turn into 'The one and only editor version 2 discussion', that's why I won't say my fav. editor*
@TS: Actually, like others, I never ever heard of 'MED'. And to be honest, I won't give any money to the developers as well. Because I don't need to. (e.g. I don't need the editor, I have others as well)

Re:*Out of topic* About med editor
I own MED. I only use it in conjuction with the whole A6 thing, though. It includes a WYSIWYG editor for 3d/2d worlds, the A6 3d/2d DirectX Engine, and WED for model editing/importing/exporting. Personally I hate WED, I just use it to import and export to the A6 engine model format. I use Anim8or, so much better, and free!
The whole package cost me ~$80 and i've yet to even use it....since I got it a year ago.
Also, MED is evil, it sometimes won't open and I have to restart my computer caus' it freezes it.
BTW, Med does have collapsable functions.
The reason there is no linux version is because it is made for a DirectX deving suite.....

I think we are not talking about same program...
I advice you to check this site, perhaps you will like.
http://www.pfersdorff.de/indexus.html
BTW: It has no linux version, but nothing with directx.

Re:*Out of topic* About med editor
I use Notepad, QuickEditor, and the Programmers Editor. They work fine for me
