Sitting Here at skool, designing an OS, and Being a Geek
Re:Sitting Here at skool, designing an OS, and Being a Geek
plus, those who got scared on the page before this (yes, that was intentional), how is anybody going to prove that it was you behind that keyboard? Of all things, that's quite the hardest to prove. Esp. with the keycards etc, they are very quickly stolen or lost.
Anyway, enjoy just telling stories... I wasn't a sweet kid all my life, even though I always ignored keyloggers etc.

So is a forum post enough evidence against me in a court of law?

Re:Sitting Here at skool, designing an OS, and Being a Geek
It was at school where I created my idt stuff and all
maybe I'll also have a good look at the grading system someday... don't think i make a change, it's quite safe (netware)..

Re:Sitting Here at skool, designing an OS, and Being a Geek
- Ahh a conspiracy theorist - you guys are so much fun! Yes it is possible, yes it can happen with a fair degree of ease - but still, it assumes that there are any authoritative type persons reading this thread, it also assumes that they can convince thier superiors that the expensive tracking equipment needed to accurately identify any given user and the resources needed to follow the leads and verify the personal information.... I don't think anything mentioned here would warrant that kind of man power or budget expenditures to worry about. Then you people probably also realize that you are not really anonymous on this board; if necessary, your IP address could be traced back to you. In fact, we the necessary authority, it's easier than most people think.
Now if one of you confessed/bragged about a triple murder - and by strange coincidence a law enforcement type (who works where you live) happens to be reading, then they might bother with it.
Re:Sitting Here at skool, designing an OS, and Being a Geek
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you...

Re:Sitting Here at skool, designing an OS, and Being a Geek
Candy - does that mean that because I'm not paranoid, that they are in fact "after me"?
Re:Sitting Here at skool, designing an OS, and Being a Geek
Guys! I mean, guys!
Law enforcement does know how to use google. Forum maintainers can be held liable for the contents of their forum.
Even if you feel leet about what you did (since you are bragging about it), and can think of a dozen ways to make smart replies to the officials (which you'll probably choke on when they're actually at your doorstep): You are biting the hand that feeds you.
I am not a moderator in the "General" section, only the "Programming" part, but I nevertheless ask you to tone it down a bit. I like this forum.

Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.

Ahh I figured they were all over exagerated claims made by immature youths...
But I see your point - I've moderated and even co-administrated some forums... I know you take a completely different mindset when you are responsible (heck I even remember temporarilly banning one of my moderators at one forum).

broke into the grading system!
Well, of course, the idiots at the place overreacted and they were trying to hook me up to lie detector machines, they were planning on calling the FBI, the Secret Service, they had the State Police haul my computer off to the US Marshall's office (which I still have not gotten back) and now I'm in "alternative school" which basically means being placed in a little room all day all by myself, can't leave except to go to the bathroom. If I talk to the other students I get suspended. They call this "lockdown".
And of course the school is intent on calling me a computer terrorist and a felon. Whee. This happened in December.
So everyone, don't do this at school!
(As far as being caught, I was able to do this for five months before some kid found out what I was doing and turned me in.)
All I can say is As Fcucking if... I hate to be a cynic, but that hardly seems likely
