I have found a single computer on the LAN where i work that is always connected to the computer even when net access is not allowed otherwise.
So i wondered how this is this happening? :-\
Why only one is allowed to connect? Is there any way i can use this to connect my computer (other one) to the net also?
If i make the connected one as a proxy will it work?
Network Access
Re:Network Access
Mind you, when it comes to networks - I'm 90% theory... I've only had very small physical trials of things...
But so far as I can remember:
It makes sense that there is one computer connected at all times - it would serve as an access point without having the fiddly notion of having to mess around with settings all over the place (Whoever the Administrator is - if there is one - probably hoped nobody would find it)
That said, if it is connected to the net, and you're on the same network as it - then yes, you should be able to set it up as a proxy and then tell your computer to connect to the internet through a LAN.
Of course if the other computer has been secured, it may ask you to enter a password once you try to use your computer to connect to the other one.
