All off topic discussions go here. Everything from the funny thing your cat did to your favorite tv shows. Non-programming computer questions are ok too.

What the ...???

Post by Oliver »

I've had this problem before, but then I could get rid of it by using adaware. It's a thing that some words are links (but they really aren't). And when you click on them it takes you to a page. That's not the worst thing. When I go to some pages, it blinks the page for like 1 second and then it turns the page white. So I can't see anything. It like disapears the site. What the h*ll is wrong? ???

I can't find a download link, also, when I search anything from Google, all the words lead to the same page. That are links to some other page, and there are some words like "download" in the link then the download word leads to another page, where there is some crap talk about download. And the rest of the link is just not a link.

Perhaps you have disabled ActiveX, then errors about it pop up quite often.

It's the only browser crappy enough to allow everyone on the world access to your local files (translation: the only one to support activex), so yes I do think he does. Solution would be to stop using IE. There's only one site afaik that uses ActiveX and that's windowsupdate.com (which sends your local configuration + software to microsoft). Other solution, reinstall or copying settings from someone else.

All those pornsites have ActiveX content too... but yes, reinstall would be the cleanest way.

oh yeah, and when I told earlier that some pages go just blank. I know that all the pages that go blanks are put together from many files (main.html, bottom.html, menu.html etc). This is the worst problem, I can't be on some pages, like my own homepage :-\

maybe someone could help me get rid of it? :P
