Hello fellow community. As some of you may know, I play guitar. I am in a band and its cool. Ive always wanted to play drums though, I thought it would be fun, and our drummer has almost an extra set. So I was talking to him about it today at practice and he said he doesn't need it and that he would give it to me. I was so excited, but I cant just take it, so I told him I would pay him. He said just give me 50 bucks. I asked my parents if I could but it and they said maybe, I need to clean out my basement first :-\
Now heres where I ask of some assistance. I dont want to bug him with questions. I have 100 dollars put away, and if I buy this set I will have 50 left. The set includes a Bass drum with 1 head I believe, 2 toms with 2 heads on 1, then other has none, a snare drum with no heads, a bass pedal, and MAYBE a floor tom with both heads. Do you think this is a good deal for 50 bucks? I think it is but im not sure. And what else would I need to buy? I would need another bass drum head, 2 tom heads, and 2 snare heads, and a snare drum stand. Thats all I would need to have all those things working right?
I am so excited. I love drums so much and I always wanted a set. Let me know what you think and what I need and stuff. And if I dont have enough money for everything, I just wont buy the heads for one of the toms, so Ill just keep 1 tom up and wait until I get more money. Thanks for the help.
I need a drum seat too. I just remembered that.
Anyone here a drummer?
Re:Anyone here a drummer?
Also, how come some people put cloths and stuff in their bass drum? What is the purpose and should I do that?
Re:Anyone here a drummer?
clothes in drums? never heard of that
I think it's A VERY GOOD DEAL for 50 bucks.
Here in Estonia...if I'd want to buy a set like that I'd have to like 150. I'd buy...but I don't know that much about drums.

Re:Anyone here a drummer?
I think it would be because you want to mute it, to get more instant beat, no ring afterwards. But I don't know really.Joey wrote: Also, how come some people put cloths and stuff in their bass drum? What is the purpose and should I do that?
edit: I think it's a pretty good deal. Around here, they cost a lot more, even the used ones.

Re:Anyone here a drummer?
I would buy it. Estonians are greedy when it comes to selling used stuff.
About the other question: I think Eigen's right.
