Peut-etre bubach est pret a bavarder en cette langue avec nous, hm?

(pa engelska det heter: maybe bubach wants to talk with us in this language).

Now, honestly: I 've don me a treat and provided my household with a textbook about swedish recently. But best one can do is talking and listening which both of them are quite heavy to achieve for me here in vienna. c'est merde.

Stay safe

Dat lijkt me wel een goed idee. Misschien kan hij ons uitleg geven over de meest gebruikte woorden en zinsbouw?
(translation: That seems like a good idea. Maybe he can explain to us the most common words and sentential structures?).

Same here in holland. Still, my girlfriend is also interested, so it should be possible :). Not much to learn from somebody who doesn't speak it either, but still better than nothing. Should look around for normal textbooks about swedish... just, where do you find those things? They were a lot easier in highschool (just order the ones on the list)...

ah, gij zijt hollander mijnheer Candy :-)

Not that I do speak much more nederlands. 've read some book with some phrases, that's all. *gg*

My Sunshine has relatives in Sweden. So she 's interested too. But they are in sweden *sigh* and the distance to get there from vienna is quite heavy. Well, I keep the memories of that country: cool landscape, fine people (f?rlat, f?rst?r du engelska eller tyska? My most common used sentence there, or this one: kan du ?r sn?ll och saga det en gang til mar langsamt - bothin english: 'scuse, d'ya understand english or german?/Canst thou be so kind and say this once again but sloooowly?).

The difficulties I have with swedish are these at the moment: the 'en' and 'ett' cases. Only these two, but they are often buildt into the words and you don't know from looking at the noun whether it is 'en' or 'ett'.

Jawel.

You do know that "gij" and "zijt" are VERY old words? They are only used in Belgium and texts from before the 20th century (belgian people are weird).

Same for my swedish, one online tutorial which had 50 words. And a game of rollercoaster tycoon that would only install when I picked svenska :D. "Jag har inte ..." *GRRR*... :)

Ok, now I know the swedish name for german :)

They appear to me to be just about the same as "de" and "het" in dutch :). Now, I'm fairly good at those, so if they're in any way related (guess they are, same area & all) that should be a breeze :)

breeze ... that reminds me of a demo on c64 called Dutch Breeze made by a guy named Jeroen Tel. Cool stuff that's been, wi' cool music.

As for the *ooold* books:That book I've picked the nederlands phrases from *IS* old *gg*. So, no wonder. It's "Der Blaurote Methusalem" by Karl May.

It shan't be a problem to grasp the concept of the language. We share the same indo-german roots in terms of linguism, don't we? ;)

your sentences in correct grammar..

Jag vill talar Svenska = Jag vill tala svenska

f?rlat, f?rst?r du engelska eller tyska? = f?rl?t(or urs?kta) mig, pratar du engelska eller tyska?

pa engelska det heter = p? engelska heter det

kan du ?r sn?ll och saga det en gang til mar langsamt = kan du vara s? sn?ll och s?ga det en g?ng till l?ngsamt

what is mar? do u mean mer?

I could perhaps learn you some in this thread, what should i start with? :)

I'd like to know the why's on our mistakes :). Except for the topic title, I see why that's wrong.

on the second one, i just think it sounds better
on the third (and the most other) one, it?s in the incorrect order

but it?s quite good for a newbie.. :-)

Well, some vocabulary and thinking in german word order isn't good a thing to do when trying to talk in foreign tongues. *gg*

I for my part am good with languages. they slip rather easy into my head. But of course it needs training and speaking.

'mar' -> I've thought this one stands for 'but'. Remembered wrongly, I see.

Alors, autre chance pour le faire correctement, mais sans les accents:

solen inte skiner. (negation before verb or after?).

kan du vara -> could you be? Is that a swedish subjonctif?

tack sa mycket och ha en bra dag!

'mar' should be 'men' if you want it to be 'but'..
the only thing wrong is 'solen inte skiner', that should be 'solen skiner inte'.

can?t u order a sample book in swedish from a school publisher?
just pretend that u are a teacher.. :-)

h?lsningar bubach
