Ive tried to darken things up a bit. its hard for me to tell. since i can only do this on my laptop at home, but at work the colours look a bit.. different (ie at work i can see the bitmap background on the logo, yet it is the SAME colour as the html colour... so IE 5.5 at work is doing something funky when it shouldnt... even in truecolour mode....)

For that, you'll have to use websafe colours, or better yet make the logo background transparent.

The old style was a lot better. Why change? I find it hard to concentrate on.

If you upgrade to SimpleMachines it supports multiple themes (user chooses) also there is a converter for YabbSE themes. Eventually you'll probally have to swap anyway as development of YabbSE has stopped and has moved to Simple Machines.

i dont like yabsee much anymore. and i dont really want to go to yabbse2 aka simplemachines.

(they STILL have the calendar! lol.) that site is.. mm.. i got 1 php error. no documentation, etc. pretty pore...

i mostly cant change my board, i cant upgrade my php (4.0.6)... so it really limits me.

Does that mean that you can't use:-
  • phpBB
  • Phorum (looks bad)
  • Invision
Shame really. Won't the ISP update? Maybe you could use that mod someone mentioned.

Keep up the good work ;D

Something must have gone wrong while saving, if you look at your logo on a white background, you'll notice it's not transparent.
This should do the trick.

Why would he want to use those? YaBBSE is much better IMHO, both in look, security, and functionality. Of those on that list though, Invision is the only somewhat decent one, although. And no his host won't update, lousy host if you ask me. :-X

It's a shame your host has 4.0.6 most boards require 4.1.0 because it has $_POST, $_GET, $_COOKIE, $_SESSION while versions before it have $HTTP_POST_VARS... etc but those are deprecated and won't be in future versions of PHP so it's better to use the ones from 4.1.0. Even CBB requires 4.1.0 to operate.

Just thought I would update what I said in my last post... earlier this morning I rewrote some of CBB's core a bit so that it is now compatiable with 4.0.6... it might even be compatible with versions older than that as well although I didn't actually test it with anything older than 4.0.6.

Well I havn't uploaded those changes to make it compatible yet, I will upload them to the beta zip tomorrow morning, so download the latest copy sometime after tomorrow.

Edit: changes are uploaded now, testing this out on 4.0.6 would be really helpfull. I will probably install php 4.0.0 on my hard drive later on to see if that works with CBB... I am positive the gzip stuff won't... so that option will have to be disabled for 4.0.3 and earlier. Hopefully the php archive has 4.0.0 in it. :-\
