Yep ;D
All true!

22. The more high-tech the equipment, the more buttons it has. (See "Aliens".)
Re:Interesting things...
You gotta remember that hollywood portrays a lot of things inaccurately. Like look at The Core and it's shoddy science.
I'm sure scientists were posting in their sciencey forums going, "ppft. is this science true or what?" and "heh. i love this one. 23. Any major scientific discovery will either discovered by a dying old man or a young girl with perky breasts"

Re:Interesting things...
Hehe. By the way, I could certainly add about 10 to the list...

Hehe, go on.Eero R?nik wrote: Hehe. By the way, I could certainly add about 10 to the list...
I can add this one: 12 year old kids ALWAYS have a degree in cryptology
Re:Interesting things...
Here you go. 10.
* Computers have all the tasks needing brains automated.
* Someone can hack your computer in a second.
* In the case you were hacked, hacker can destroy all your files in a split of a second.
* When some kind of a message appears, escape always helps (if it would be so simple with blue screens of death...)
* When you sleep on your keyboard, nothing happens with the keys.
* Cracking passwords is done with few minutes.
* When you are cracking passwords, it is just trying thru all the ASCII codes for each letter in the password.
* All the important documents are usually already deleted or in the recycle bin.
* There's no-one in a TV station when you're trying to hack in there and change the shows and movies.
* When there's other hackers hacking in the same TV station, they can message you and tell you to stop.
* All the databases containing sensitive data, are without no security whatsoever.

Re:Interesting things...
What I have learned out of this is that computer-movie-freaks can't count.
25 = 30??
25 = 30??
Re:Interesting things...
Yeah, I was wondering about that myself. Maybe he just addded more and lazily didn't change the title ::)
Re:Interesting things...
you have to give credit to the matrix though. In Reloaded Trinity uses ssh1nuke to nuke a local net computer, after which she logs in with ssh
now that's at least feasible. That she immediately understands the awkward command set that console comes with is less logical

Re:Interesting things...
Yeah, but she maybe asked the operator to teach those commands to her, like she did in the first part with that V212 helicopter... Or maybe she had worked in that power station before getting to know about Matrix.
Re:Interesting things...
You have to remember that Neo and Trinity were computer hackers before they left the Matrix. Remember Neo was asleep at the computer every night 'n whatnot? I think it would be safe to say that Trinity was into the same stuff before she left the Matrix.
Back to the nuclear station: the previous crew, before they died, did all the ssh nuke stuff. All Trinity had to do was type in the new password really.

Re:Interesting things...
point is, the producers actually know that there is more to hacking a computer than typing "hack that computer" or something similar. They tried to make it look realistic for people that know damn well what's going on there, and in how far that is feasible to be done in real life (to be honest, the setup they present is very realistic. It's a local network, and they run ssh even on local lines. Sounds like a good start of security to me...)Nick Sonneveld wrote: Back to the nuclear station: the previous crew, before they died, did all the ssh nuke stuff.
