We need a GUI message board...
for developers of them. I would hang out there if only mega-tokyo had one. Just an idea.
Re:We need a GUI message board...
I don't think I understand what you are wanting?
You mean like a program that posts to the board? Or a program that is a board?

Re:We need a GUI message board...
Oh well then I think that is a bad idea too, it could be posted in those 2 boards like was said.

Gee, nevermind.Perica wrote: Personally, i think that's a stupid idea.
BTW: GUI's aren't anything close to an OS besides that there both systems software, so why would I want to post it in the OSdev area? I guess I will start posting lots of GUI questions on the *General* programming forum

Re:We need a GUI message board...
Hey it could have something to do with it, if it's a GUI for an OS.
Re:We need a GUI message board...
I'm nuts about GUIs. My top three coding interests are engine coding, disassembly/compilation, GUIs. I've been researching the history of GUIs for ages, and even like to collect them (though I haven't as much lately, it's time for Christmas shopping, got to halt my personal spending ;D).
Though I can write a Windowing GUI from scrach with messaging, buttons, controls, and all the other fancy stuff in about a day, there are still many things left that add up here and there, the fine details. For example, widget algorithms, speed algorithms, and new algorithms only other people could think of that are awesome to learn. It's great to think outside the box, or if you can't, find out how others think about the same thing.
Then, there are other useful discussions related to GUIs, though they also fit into OSes, such as how to make your own "This Program Requires Foosoft Foodows." executables, and the best way to write your own graphic drivers (I myself don't like to use third party ones).
I think it would benifit this circle of OS developers, as most of them are interested in GUI coding as well. I think separating it might help the GUI community grow.

Re:We need a GUI message board...
I think GUI board should be made. You did separate new interpreters from AGI and SCI boards...
Anyway, making GUIs rules! I just love to plan them!
Oh, and check out http://toastytech.com/guis/, the best GUI gallery there is.
