hi,
i have in mind to build my computer with a r5 2600x, and my question is if i should use memory in: 4x4gb @3200mhz or 2x8gb @3466mhz.i cannot decide which is better
Thanks!
Amd memory channels question
Re: Amd memory channels question
Well in theory quad channel memory should be faster (if your CPU and motherboard support it).
On the other hand you loose 2 of your slots which is kind of bad (i.e. future expandability).

Re: Amd memory channels question
yes, i already know that, for example:dual channel is better than single channel, 'cause it have more bandwith.going with that logic, quad channel perfonmance increase should as better as the increase between single channel and dual channel. but i'm seeing that ryzen does not support quad channel
Edit:so if it doesn't support quad channel, will be better faster rams, or still with quad channel at 3200mhz?

Re: Amd memory channels question
If your CPU doesn't support quad channel, it will just run your memory in dual channel, i.e. no performance boost.
I would personally opt for 2x8 GB, more MHz, more motherboard slots, easier OC.
