All off topic discussions go here. Everything from the funny thing your cat did to your favorite tv shows. Non-programming computer questions are ok too.

Similar forum for computer architecture?

Post by quadrant »

Are the forums out there similar to OSDev but with a focus on the computer architecture/hardware side of things? I.e. where people talk about/make custom CPUs.

The only one I know of is the Nand2Tetris forum. It is great, however it focuses mainly on the architecture taught in the class.

Looks like it's just getting started. Seems there are no general ones that have been around for a long time...

Thanks! Downside of OpenCores is that people seem to dump their final project there and move on to other things. There's no active community like here.

There's also hackaday with a bunch of CPU and computer projects. Though, it's not quite a forum either. But communication on project pages is possible.

I think anycpu is not a big forum where we can find useful info
In term of big forum for computer arc and related, I think it is https://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/
and https://www.edaboard.com/ is also have some in-depth topics
Cheers, Peter
