Yes we are aware of it.

While we were preaching to everyone to update their security (in the news section we posted) we upgraded our forum yesterday and forgot to apply the security fix ::)

So we got hit...of course they only changed the index page but nothing else was comprimised.

From what I heard they only changed the template, they did it to warn the YaBBSE team about a security flaw, so in this case it was a good thing. The security flaw has been fixed, which means YaBBSE is more secure.

I'm reminded of a similar stunt that was reported in slashdot.org. Someone redirected the project gutenberg home page to point to an Iraqi news site. The irony was that though the news site was rather right-wing and incendiary, it did have some valuable information about the UN inspection team from an Iraqi perspective. Kooky!
