Installing YaBB SE

on the site it said to download 1.5.0 so i did and i guess ill just go with 1.4.1 now...ill tell you if it works.

Read the site again, it says it is experimental and NOT to download it for your main site. Until 1.5.1 comes out I don't recommend getting anything newer than 1.4.1.

An Error Has Occurred!

Is that a problem with my chmodding?

That means that it can't open the avatars directory chmod it 777 and that should fix it.

If it doesn't then maybe you have the wrong location set for the avatars in Settings.php

Ill look...there is only one other message i get which is

Can you open Admin.php for me and go to line 927 and look for the command opendir(); and tell me what is insided of the opendir(); command.

it was $boarddir...

I seemed to have fixed the problem by chmodding it to 755...is that safe to do that?

Yes it is safe. So there error is gone.

Yup...i dont have any errors in the log anymore either...so i guess it is running smoothly...
