YaBB is perl/flatfile and is not allowed by many hosts.

YaBBSE is php/mysql and is supported by almot all hosts.

See the difference?

YaBB is the original.

YaBBSE is the port to php/mysql. The SE stands for something though, I wonder who can guess it?
