Nameless OS Lite v1.2 was released a week ago at GitHub: https://github.com/p-durlej/newsys/releases.
Among various changes, this version improves support for high DPI displays.
This is probably the final version of Nameless OS Lite.
I'm willing to fix any remaining serius bugs, though. So testing and bug reports are welcome.

Re: Nameless OS Lite v1.2 (call for testing)
One bug I noticed in 1.0 is that display distorts on putting high resolutions in VMWare (Gets bit pitched). Let's check it there...
Update:
No more floppies in this release...
Your cdrom.iso seems to be corrupted.

Installation from floppies is no longer supported in Nameless OS v1.2.Lukand wrote:One bug I noticed in 1.0 is that display distorts on putting high resolutions in VMWare (Gets bit pitched). Let's check it there...

The cdrom.iso image is intended to be used as an installation/live CD only. The cdrom.iso doesn't really contain an ISO 9660 file system.

Well, how am I going to boot it if no reader on my computer could read it and VMware just continues to network boot after selecting CD-ROM as boot device? If it's not ISO 9660 what it is?
Re: Nameless OS Lite v1.2 (call for testing)
Working great for me under QEMU, however I can't seem to close the filesystems window once it's been opened.

Thanks for testing.zenzizenzicube wrote:I can't seem to close the filesystems window once it's been opened.
Normally the "File Systems" window can be closed using the OK button and the window title bar does not include a close button.
Can you close the window using the OK button?
Re: Nameless OS Lite v1.2 (call for testing)
Thanks for reporting. I was able to boot the CD image on both QEMU and VirtualBox, but it failed on a real machine. I didn't test the latest images on VMware, though.Lukand wrote:Well, how am I going to boot it if no reader on my computer could read it and VMware just continues to network boot after selecting CD-ROM as boot device? The CD-ROM image is supposed to boot the operating system loader in El-Torito no emulation mode. The loader then uses BIOS calls to read the CD and load the operating system. There is a custom, non-ISO filesystem in the CD image.
