OSDev Podcast?

Post by SpyderTL »

Would anyone be interested in listening to, or participating in an OS development themed podcast?

I don't really have the time to put this together, myself, but I've been looking around for a low-level development podcast, with topics like device drivers, memory managers, hardware details, etc. but I haven't found anything close to that level of detail.

Are there any low level podcasts out there? If not, maybe we should start one.

Any thoughts? Would any of you guys listen if one existed?

I'd listen if it would be broadcasted when I have time to listen. Or I'd watch/listen to it some time later.
My post is up there, not down here.

A long time ago in a galaxy very near here, we (the community) tried to put together an OSDev magazine (http://forum.osdev.org/viewtopic.php?t=16226). We got one issue out the door (if you can't find it anywhere I should still have it somewhere), but struggled for a second issue.

A community project like this is a very difficult undertaking. I wish you luck, but you might need more than that.

I suppose the interested people always can be found, but to find them it is required to spend a lot of money on advertising and marketing efforts. Another issue is the content - who will create it? And somebody should manage every task related to the project.

In short - it's an another business endeavor. But 95% startups fail and the author of the idea is a bit relaxed to be a driver ...
