non-SMM real mode UEFI

As I was reading the specification and it looks like only case, when UEFI is in real mode is while it is working in SMM. Is it correct?

Except that SMM is not real mode.

So UEFI is never in real mode.

In which mode is it in CSM?
Is CSM part of UEFI?
