I really hate to be the bearer of bad news. I am pretty sure that this has been one of the darkest months in the history of computing. I have nothing more to say.

Don't worry about that, most of us use news feeds ;)

Well, the irony in this is that I was just reading Practical Common Lisp and it said he was still alive, which surprised me. Then I did a search on his name... bad timing.

Apparently the grim reaper has computer scientists on his roll this month. Very said.

Looks like the gods got jealous of our tech and called in stevie first. But when they found that steve was nothing more than a marketing stunt they got pissed. So they called ritchie in, but ritchie needed help from some other person for AI so they call McCarthy in. Whos next? Berners Lee, Wozniak?

Personally I'm hoping it's Ballmer.

Wow Dennis Ritchie is dead? Did not know that. Don't actually read any news. Neither IT nor general. It's sad as I like the Unix philosophy and C. Rest in peace.
