New OS project?

Post by giszo »

I would like to start a new OS project from scratch but I am tired of one man project so it would be nice to create a team with 2-3 people to work on it. My aim with the project would be a desktop OS that is self hosted and later maybe it could be capable of some basic daily usage. The target platform is i686 and amd64 at least. I prefer C for kernel space and C++ for user land parts.

I would also join a project that is just starting now and the coding work is not yet started. If you have such a project just let me know.

If you are interested in this then drop me a private message and we can talk about the details. Of course I can't pay for this, it would be a free time project for having fun and/or for learning purposes.

If you are not interested please do not spam the topic with useless comments. I know the beginners mistake part of the wiki and such but I promise you that I am not a beginner, just check my signature for details. :)

Beginner Mistakes, section "Teamwork".
Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.

I didn't think I have to wait sooo long before someone comes up with this. Thanks for the link, I couldn't find it myself. ;)

yaOSp was really neat. I'm sure you'll do great on your next project. Good luck!
