EU Parliament topples SW patents

The EU parliament voted against the highly controversial paper on the patentability of "computer-implemented inventions", which would have legitimized software patents in the European Union.

I think it's a happy day for all readers of this forum. Now just be aware that this is most likely not the last attempt of the patent lobbyists to push this upon us. We won a (crucial) battle, but the war ain't over yet.
