It's a free world, you can do whatever you want! Working on a 16-bit and a 32-bit OS at the same time is probably even preferable (since you learn more).

I do a lot of my best stuff in pseudo-16-bit (real-mode with the occasional 0x66 prefix). I tend to find bootsector programming an interesting challenge since you have such limited resources. Of course, I learned ASM on the TI-83+ where you had a grand total of ~8.8k of executable RAM (unless some was being used for storage by the OS) without stepping on the OS's data, so I learned to optimize for size very early.

May 16-bit code live forever!
I am also working on both 16 and 32 bit OS'es :)
Most of my time goes into my 16-bit OS demo.
It use software multitasking, has IPC interaction,
simple STDLIB (send, recv, getc, putc) and 4 applications...
Did i mention that it is only 256 bytes?

Hi,

More or less the same here... except for the supersmall size. No way I can squeeze it below 10K.

I don't care enough but it would probably be fun if someone counted GXP's announcement posts. Maybe it would be a good idea to announce when you actually have something? And don't worry about disappointing us, we need to care about it first.

Not trying to be one. Honestly, do you care about my OS? Would you be disappointed in me if it were utter crap?

TBH, I would be disappointed if it were crap, mainly because I know you have the skills to pull off something good. I think the OP knows my opinion of him well enough not to deserve a mention.
