Hello all,
Jari OS project is a microkernel-based multiservice OS (more information - http://jarios.org). Now it works and many subsystems are designed and implemented (some implemented fully, some subsystems partially done).
We're looking for a new developers and community members - and if you want to improve your skills in OS theory and development you are welcome.
You may try to run first alpha release, download link and information - http://jarios.org/node/14. Also you may check out source code to review and understanding how it works.
Actually this project is a base for specific small internal OSes, but Jari OS itself is a set of different components that may be included or excluded. You will find a wide range of interest : networking, file systems, UNIX IPC implementation, libraries development, DSL for RPC compiler and other OS stuff including audio and graphical subsystems.
For those who likes a low level programming there are a lot of work too - you may port Jari OS to other platforms (currently we support amd64(x86_64) in long mode).
If you are a novice in development you may try to test it and post bugs first - it's a great and useful job too.
Anyway, it will not be a waste of time - all source code with your copyrights are GNU GPLed/LGPLed and our development maillist is opened for reading and writing.
Active development of Jari OS going within last year and it shown that from a microkernel draft and ideas at the start we have a complete OS at finish - now we can extend features, generic system thing are implemented.
More information can be found here - http://jarios.org
Thanks.
PS Sorry for my english.
