There's nothing saying you can't make a macro <function> do "call <function>" or even "push <parameter> \ call <function> \ pop <parameter>."

You could to try libcaca for good ascii 3d graphics. It works completly in textmode(DOS, Windows, Unix). There are also ports of Doom for libcaca.
