Sure, I code in ASM all the time. I've been doing a lot of 8bit 6502 ASM lately, but it's far from my favorite ;) 8bit ASM is tedious and annoying, but still worth it. Trying to make an NES game in C would result in about 1fps! The more bits, the better the ASM. With 8bit ASM, I had to do a hell of a lot of 16bit wrapper macros to make my life the slightest bit easier. 32bit ASM is great, but 16bit is still fine--anything's better than 8bit ASM--except the rare 4bit processors, heh. Imagine having to code 8bit wappers in 4bit ASM! That's one nybble I wouldn't want to mess with!

What, no option for Scheme?

If only I were in a position where I could stay around, I'd say more... but alas, positions remain elusive for me. It's nice to drop by for a visit, though. ;)
