To Joey ...
Nay, I won't rant off on you, gosh, but listen:
If you want to learn a programming language, giving up due to some "error" in a book is definitely not the proper way *frown*. I'd rather consider it the more appropriate way to ask what the heck you don't understand in that d(a)mned book. The more, I for my part wouldna blame the book for not getting something straight. Those authors and editors more often than less know what they write. So, it would be appreciable if you mentioned the passage you struggle with.
Lurking for VB-Downloads is really utterly crap, lad. You better go to a shop and purchase a license for this stuff. It is affordable and a reasonable development environment for certain things. But - once again - be so kind and DO NOT COME HITHER asking for downloads. I know many of such places, but I won't tell. Search for that stuff yourself, if you are so eager on doing illegal stuff.
So stay tuned with c++. Try getting "c++ for dummies". It is a good start off.

Re:To Joey ...
Why didn't you just send him a private message through the board instead of posting it publicly? ::)
Re:To Joey ...
Please don't start a little war on this board. Try to keep it somewhat friendly... eh, who am I kidding!
Re:To Joey ...
To find legittimate downloads, I just use google and type something like "free source code lib" and the language I need. There are some really good amateur downloads in VB for free, including complete games to study.

Re:To Joey ...
@chris: private messages can easier be ignored and deleted. Something public ... one can either overread it or read it, but one does not have the freedom to delete it. *ggg* Anyway, for you consider this not the nice way: I didn't tell I am a nice guy, did I?

I do agree, he shouldn't be starting trouble like that. But still that isn't an excuse for cursing and calling names and stooping down to his level.
