Not even a custom-made remote central locking system? The only mod I would ever make to my car is a sub-machine gun.

Not to mention that the police will take you off the road here if your car is cause for distraction of other drivers (which includes nonstandard lighting)
If I'd pimp my car, I'd make it amphibious... Something that might actually be useful

haha, yes you caught me, I am a teen. (16) But I don't think the car modifications cause the style of driving. I think the style of driving causes the car modifications. 'Cause I think you guys would be gunning down my car even though I drive a stock toyota prius.
And a 'distraction for other cars', isn't that extremely subjective? I personally find the non-local Lamborghini and Ferarri's very distracting, because they are just that cool. And also a non-standard spoiler, some people will find it distracting. Where is the line on this?

I'm waiting for global anarchy before I strap a pair of M61 Vulcans to the sides of mah car and wire them up to the shift stick.
I'm also thinking a small rocket launcher in case of terrorists.
And if global anarchy comes within two years, fsck the 16-year-old required limit, b!tches, this is chaos!

IIRC, in Australia it's illegal to have the vehicle in motion while any body lighting is turned on.Not to mention that the police will take you off the road here if your car is cause for distraction of other drivers
Re: How Many Forum Members Does it Take?
That's state legislation in most states. At least in Tasmania it is.pcmattman wrote:IIRC, in Australia it's illegal to have the vehicle in motion while any body lighting is turned on.

It's interesting. I thought you guys would be more into car tunning. Low level modifications seem right up your alley. Seriously think of the potential, I was thinking about wiring the underglow to the brakes. My justification is that the driver beyond me is more likely to see it.
Re: How Many Forum Members Does it Take?
Hi,
To save time, why not squash the car into a small cube of metal, melt it down and make fencing materials out of it? You know that's what will happen to it sooner or later anyway...
Cheers,
Brendan
I'd hate to disappoint, but IMHO a car is a poorly designed tool for getting people from one place to another. Note: By "poorly designed" I mean it shouldn't take 900 Kg of metal and assorted crud to shift a few 100 Kg loads, and parts should be interchangeable between manufacturers/models.NReed wrote:It's interesting. Sure - more likely to see the underglow, and therefore less likely to see the brake lights.NReed wrote:Seriously think of the potential, I was thinking about wiring the underglow to the brakes. My justification is that the driver beyond me is more likely to see it.

For all things; perfection is, and will always remain, impossible to achieve in practice. However; by striving for perfection we create things that are as perfect as practically possible. Let the pursuit of perfection be our guide.
Re: How Many Forum Members Does it Take?
It's also illegal in a lot of the USA. In Vermont we're not allowed to do any sort of underglow (not that I would anyway). I partially agree with Brendan about the host weight vs. guest weight, yet have you seen those ugly smart cars? If that's where they are going with weight reduction, let's wipe the board clean and start from square one.

In California under glow is sorta legal, but then again what isn't? If you are going to have a 'completely useless tool', lets at least make it look/drive good/well.
And I think a car is perfectly well designed for its job. I think this is along the lines of the "64k of memory should be enough for anyone." What would you remove from say, a stock Honda Civic?

64k of memory is definitely not enough for everyone. Now 640k, that's the ticket.NReed wrote: And I think a car is perfectly well designed for its job. I think this is along the lines of the "64k of memory should be enough for anyone."
If your name is Hans Reiser, you would start by removing the passenger seat. What would you remove from say, a stock Honda Civic?
