My nearly 18 month old little girl is quite the talker. Well, most things you can't understand just yet, but some things are very very clear. Not 5 minutes ago she pointed to my laptop and said, almost perfectly, "macbook." I'm trying to get her to say it again, this time with a recording device handy, just so I have proof! So far no success, all she really wants to do is turn the laptop off and climb on my back.

Skip BASIC, go to Python 3, then C. Break her into assembly once she can write a program to do the Sieve of Eratosthenes without help.

And yet, nobody listens to the crazy conspiracy theorists that say Apple's products have subliminal messages that predispose children to hate PCs. That MUST be the reason Apple's market share is growing!

It's not just a conspiracy by Apple, they're also working with McDonalds and the library to get kids to love 'mac' and 'book'.

I'm working on balancing this out. My son likes the red glow from my optical mouse (NB: for those of you who would worry about such things, I don't get him to look at the laser!) and he'll be several years old before he sees one of these Mac things
By that time, he'll already feel that 3 top-mounted buttons is the right number for a mouse
