This is an RFQ of sorts.
I'm now in a position to consider hiring a programmer(s) to further the development of the D.i.N.S. operating system. I will be needing a developer who programs in C or assembly (C being preferable as the primary language) or can either interface or adapt to the requirements of this project.
I will be needed programmers who are familiar with networking concepts and programming network devices. A strong working knowledge of networking protocols (especially TELNET and HTTP) will be a must. Cryptology will be used later in the project and will require some development on. GCC is the target compiler so a strong familiarity with its internals is required.
The project will last ~6 months and requires someone with the time to devote to the project.
There is no set work schedule as this will be remotely managed and thus the pay will (most likely) reflect the employee's time put in.
This is a request for cost as I need to get estimations (not just from here either) in order to make a final decision. The ones chosen for the project must be willing to sign NDA's protecting the source code and the concepts of the project. Hardware for the project will be included if selected.
Required: resume, references (they *will* be contacted during the later decision processes), project pay quote (for 6 months), hours/week available to program, and reasons why this project could benefit from you.
Please send the required information via PM (and not in a post). Feel free to send questions via PM as well. I'd be happy to clarify things.
This request will be up for 1 week.

Hi,
I'm not answering your post from a cost or job point of view, but had to say congratulations for getting to the point where you can actually create a company, sell your software and employ a programmer!
From what I remember about the start of your project, you have done all this in a pretty limited timescale too and must have taken some pretty big risks in setting up the company and promoting DiNS. I hope we see more people progressing to this kind of thing in the future.
Well done!
Cheers,
Adam

In my perspective of OS dev'ing, that's an insult! I think Mr. E should go for taking down Tanenbaum first...quanganht wrote:And we will have "Mr. Bill Gates" number 2 !

lol thanks for the positive feedback. =)
btw, this has no strings attached, so please submit if you have interest and if you decide against it later, that's fine too.

i dont know much about networking, but i can help code, when i know what to do. And i can do optimizing, and that is all asm.
SO if you need that, im willing to help for nothing. ( Just help)

well, what to say, to much to do in too little space.
when it goes up hill, increase work, when it goes straight, test yourself but when going down, slow down.

Hi, id really like to help you out with this, paid or not, as i think could learn a lot from you about business and OS development.
Im new to OS development, but i reckon i could help you out with the networking and security side. Ive been programming (C/++ and PHP) and learning computer security for about 4 years now, and ive learned a fair amount about protocols and computer architecture, both low and high level.
Im not bothered about pay but i would like to help you with this, are you willing to accept non-paid developers?
