Slovakia and Hungary
Slovakia and Hungary
If you find this topic offensive for you, please go away. Thank you.
Now let me get this straight: Hungarians want to get their arse kicked again.
In the past:
1. Slovak nation was tyranized in the Austro Hungarian Empire for more than 1000 years, we were forbidden to speak Slovak and people were prosecuted or killed for anything Slovak related. Read on Černová massacre, Ľudovít Štúr, Milan Rastislav Štefanik on the Wiki if you want to know more info. Also, the "Slovak-Hungarian war" in the world war II.
2. In 2008, a "Hungarian Guard" was formed. A group of ... nationalist shitheads who like to provoke fights..
In the past week:
1. Hungarians humiliated and tried to put on fire a Slovak flag right before the Slovak embassy, happened a week ago.
2. They, in northern Hungary, "blacked" a Slovak name of one country and leaved only the Hungarian name on the tables (they were bilingual). Needless to say, some countries here on Slovakia have their own Hungarian names and we didnt make such a thing in the past like they did.
3. They did organize a fight on a football match in Dunajska Streda, which, of course, provoked the hungarian authorities to call the police actions as "exagerated". Its a "nationwide scandal" by them.
4. Now, (20:35 CET) the "Hungarian Guard" is protesting in Budapest right before the Slovak embassy building for the "police brutality" or something like that, what happened in Dunajska Streda. Bullshit. What they did, they got what they deserved. And now they're crying. Idiots.
5. For more than 10 years they have a political party here, which, of course, gives them more than to anybody else. Did you saw in Germany a Czech political party?
If I could, I would declare war between them and enslave them like they did to us, or plunge them back to Mongolia where they came from. And now I would get in that fcking crowd with a water cannon or some grenades to scare them away.
Hungarians, on the other side of the Danube river!
Tell me. Is this normal? Because I can't believe it. They're marching and striking before the Slovak embassy and want more privileges. Is that normal? Nuke'em! They're nothing like a bunch of hungry rats. They just want more, and they go cry to their government because they think that our government "doesn't give to the Hungarian minority opportunities" ( ).
If that would happen in America, it would be quickly sorted out. But this? I ask you. Is it normal from them?

You care too much; calm down, and stop being angry on the internet before someone pretends to be Hungarian and starts trolling you (which would be hilarious).

Re: Slovakia and Hungary
Every country in the world has at least one major issue in historical terms with at least one other country.
(Corollary: By definition every country has at least one other country with a major issue with them).
I'm from the UK and I just know that this holds true for the UK & Northern Ireland.
I'm not saying it's all good, but to be honest sometimes just looking at someone and saying 'wtf' and walking away without even trying to counter their veiwpoint is the best course of action. Which isn't to say you shouldn't try and reason with them first, but there does come a point where life is too short.

And therein lies a recursive problem. What would that solve? Nothing. It would just cause a new generation of 'them' to grow up disliking 'you' and in 20 years they would be posting the same statement with equal justification. If I could, I would declare war between them and enslave them like they did to us

Re: Slovakia and Hungary
I'm confused. Do they have equal rights in your country? If they don't, then they certainly have a valid reason to be protesting. They're marching and striking before the Slovak embassy and want more privileges.

Re: Slovakia and Hungary
Yes they do, that's the problem. They even have more rights and their own political party here as I said. For example, they have even their own student books here in their own language, and if that wouldn't be enough - there was a protest because they didn't like the Slovak names in their Hungarian speaking grade-school student book (please notice that this is in Slovakia, not in Hungary). And they protest more, and when they fail at it - they go crying to their government and their gov goes crying to the European Parliament. And it loops forever. And we are being dis-honored for being "hostile" for ethnic minorities, which is pure bullshit again. We're friendly to anybody foreign, who comes here as a friend, not as a vagabond or bald head nationalist.Alboin wrote:Do they have equal rights in your country?
So why are they protesting? I don't know exactly, but maybe because they learned - that by doing protests, they can gain more even if all is balanced and everyone has the same rights.
Who again? They have no allies in such place where they are located.... in the middle of pure Slavic states. If you read about the Austro-Hungarian empire, you may know that they annexed some of these states to their own...It would just cause a new generation of 'them' to grow up disliking 'you' and in 20 years they would be posting the same statement with equal justification
Maybe, but I've really gotta agree with Jan Slota. He doesn't speak very polite, but I like on him one thing: he says what is on his tongue and he doesn't play "intelligent" like some of the politicans...lollynoob wrote:You care too much;
Anywho, if you would ask any normal Slovak here ATM, he would say the same about Hungarians. I'm not being sick, but we joked in school many times about their government and the possible ways of destroying them... which of course wouldn't be possible. Or, is it me, but I smell something in the future.
If only the news pages were translated, there's another thing: on the protests that happened yesterday,
http://aktualne.centrum.sk/zahranicie/e ... id=1168162
The title reads "Hungarian extremists want to cut the double cross out of the Slovak flag". That did ring out from their mouths in the protest yesterday. One thing, we were on this land much sooner than they were, and the double-cross on three knolls is our state symbol, not theirs.
Plus, on the protests, they shouted "Out with Trianon!" and another things.
Tell me again, is that normal?
As I said above, I smell something. We'll see what will happen next, but I'll better not post it here. I'll keep the fun to my relatives which know what's going on... good luck with Obama on your side. [No irony.]

Wow... This is just too hilarious to let it go...
And get your facts straight. The Austrian Empire was founded in like 1804.
It's called history. I'm not saying it's right, it's history. The same thing is happening to the Hungarians living in Transylvania.inflater wrote:Now let me get this straight: Hungarians want to get their arse kicked again.

It's called the "National Guard". And there is much controversy around it. Anyway, I agree. Except with the "provoke fights" part.inflater wrote: 2. In 2008, a "Hungarian Guard" was formed. A group of ... nationalist shitheads who like to provoke fights..
This was a response to police brutality at a certain football match, in which numerous Hungarian fans were attacked by the Slovakian police.inflater wrote: In the past week:

There are nationalists in every country. Don't judge the majority of the Hungarians by the acts of a small minority.inflater wrote: 2. Well, police brutality is just... police brutality.inflater wrote: 3. They did organize a fight on a football match in Dunajska Streda, which, of course, provoked the hungarian authorities to call the police actions as "exagerated". Its a "nationwide scandal" by them.

Well, if there is a Czech minority, why don't just start a political party? I don't see your problem here.inflater wrote: 5. For more than 10 years they have a political party here, which, of course, gives them more than to anybody else. Did you saw in Germany a Czech political party?

All you managed to do is prove that Slovaks and Hungarians are waaaaaay too intolerant to each other.
