Re: MS Riddle
#2 its symmetric with "1123581347" being the pattern. in fibonacci terms, sum the last two digits, and append the result. this results in fibbonaci until 13, which becomes 1+3=4, 3+4=7, 4+7=11, restarting the sequence

Re: MS Riddle
I don't get it. Did you not write the riddle correctly? Or are you trying to use my algorithm to solve the riddle for 4 because for 4 the answer would be 1 not 4, according to my method.Combuster wrote:Nice attempt, but the answer to 4 turned out to be 4.
My method, however, works for your riddle.
Re: MS Riddle
This one is kind of easy too:
A night watchman has a dream that his boss will be killed in a plane crash, so instantly he awakes and finds his boss before he leaves for the airport and says, "Boss, don't go because I had a dream that you were on a plane and it crashed!" So, the boss being superstitious decides not to go and lo and behold the plane crashes over the Atlantic. The boss being elated runs to the guard and says, "Thank you, you saved my life AND BY THE WAY YOU'RE FIRED!"
Why did the boss fire the watchman?

Re: MS Riddle
Gosh, that was fast. How about this one:
If a rooster lays an egg on an a-frame barn (^) and the wind from the north is blowing at 45 mile per hour for only 25% of the time and the wind from the east is blowing at 65 miles an hour the rest of the time, then which direction is it more likely that the egg will fall off (left or right)?
If that is too easy try another:
What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries?

1) left and right have no meaning, when given no direction. Which way am I facing?
2) A towel.

Re: MS Riddle
Good job. For you sir is another:
2, 3, 6
2*3*6=36
I think a rule should be that none of the children are of the same age which rules out alternative possibilities. (i.e., 3,3,4), thus the only plausible answer would be 2,3,6. I hope.
What's their age? I ripped this from some website and I haven't done it until now, so my guess will be below. Two friends meet and one asks how old are your kids? The friend says:
friend_A : the product of their ages is 36
friend_B : … (I don’t know)
friend_A : The sum of their ages is the number of windows your house have.
friend_B : Even if I know the number of windows my house have… I still don’t know
friend_A : the eldest has blue eyes, just like her mother
friend_B : Oh, then I know what are their ages.

Re: MS Riddle
It would appear we don't have spoiler tags here .
Re: MS Riddle
No, I know, I put that there so people would know I put some text there. Maybe you can see it anyway?

Re: MS Riddle
This problem doesn't give you enough information to determine their ages. it doesn't say the amount of kids or how big the house. What's their age? Possible answers (36), (1*36), (2*18), (3*12), (4*9), (6*6), ........

Re: MS Riddle
I can see the answer and no spoiler at all. Something tells me it's the megatokyo theme, and you're using prosilver or subsilver2 (both of which have spoiler tags iirc).Maybe you can see it anyway?
