os dev needed
ok this is what i want my own os that only runs apps that i want it to run and only those apps. i under stand it but i cant write it. i just want a different look like customized not ms logos every where etc. is there a way to just change certain things on an existing os. i understand the concept of open source. i want my logo etc. can i pay some one to do this. i would love to do it my self just scared of messing up. help me get a better understanding any body who wants to help me i would appreciate it. Here is an example, my logo, only runs the apps made for my work and encrypted with PP. now the apps can they all be combine as one app including web browser i want every thing under one icon, lets say you turn your computer on it loads up then your home screen appears now that one icon is there. now what i m asking is can i have one icon that has browser, computer, network, spy ware, etc attached to it, computer automaticlly makes internet connection when its loads up, can it be set up like that the most important thing is and will be AI voice control, example comp loads your on the net whatever your AI greets you good morning you reply she asks you what are we doing today you reply etc. is there ai software out there that interact with you like in video games, i want this to be a os that learns along the way. i need some one who can dev an os like this i would just need them to sign some legal papers saying you will only make this type of os for me ( to my customization) if developer wants to dev his or her own based on the os and apps they write for me they they will need permission first. there will be other papers to sign as well. now i can have my legal team draw up a contract just need a developer i would do all this my self but im in investment banking and don't have a lot of time. somebody out there wants this project. this is the type of os every body wants. i know cause i have asked around i m good with numbers, an os devs are good at what they do. i got a good name for it too.

Hi,
Ok, the first step would be to locate your "enter" key. It should be on the right hand side of the main part of the keyboard, probably above the right shift key.
Hope that helps...
Cheers,
Brendan

@pryse: I'll do. My price list:
- Get yourself over here and pay me to provide housing and food. I'll say $25 every day.
- Give me 50 000 $ and a Lamborghini Murcielago (to be used in future, but what the heck.)
- Wait at least X months. X is something between 8 and 12.
That's the price list for a CLI based OS with fat16 support, nothing more. If you want a GUI to it, add +300 000 $ and +20 months.
Everything else: give me +1 500 000 000$ and buy out Microsoft only for me.

But seriously, he's being serious, I don't think you see how much this will cost you, and time, it's not something that can be done cheaply over night....
Also, this isn't the best forum to ask for people to do things for you unless your really are prepared to pay A LOT.
@Mods: I think this should be in the announcement forum...

Re: os dev needed
step 1: go to a lawyer and fill out the papers to become a business (LLC).
step 2: get a bunch of NDAs.
step 3: give up a small amount of business equity in return for the services of your new lawyer/attourny.
step 4: talk to a local venture capitalist/angel invest/rich friends/rich family and raise enough money to hire another professional/amature programmer to aid in your OS development.
step 5: get a place, a rediculous amount of test computers, and free up your schedule for the next... 2-4 years.
there, you have now created your own OS with mild functionality and with your own logo. You will probably not make money off of it as it is not specialized, QA'd, or mature enough to take on existing OS's on any kind of market. So now you probably owe a great deal of money to your investors and you have no income.
Seriously, you need to look at the practical development plan of what you are requesting. Lots of money + lots of time + lots of help doesn't always produce a successful anything. You should make a better plan, with a more thought-through idea and then decide if it is truely worth it to even do step 1. I would suggest, remaking your idea, and if you think it is worth posting for real paid-for help again,

I challenge you to get the 'thumbs-up' from a local VC/AV. This will not only tell if you can even explain your own idea fully, but it will also tell if experienced people in the business/investment fields think it's even remotely feasible.pryse wrote:this is the type of os every body wants. i know cause i have asked around i m good with numbers

well let my just say it is an honor to hear such criticism, when i say investment banker i should had said adviser. i don't have that much tech savvy, but i know a thing or too. back to the cost you all gave different numbers which is bad because when some purpose an idea to multi devs and they all give different quotes that have large gaps in numerical value and time frame its shows that there not to certain about it themselves, no disrespect that's why i posted it. as for presentation, what CEO or executive writes their own presentation or what ever they need written up , come now i work with lawyers. do be fooled by my typing or lack of tech if i new everything i wouldn't have to ask. one of you wants a Lamborghini and like and over a billion dollars, you think they pay devs at MS that much or for any case in that matter. i don't think so. as for enter key this is a forum i m not getting paid to write so as long as you can read it, you act like this is English class seriously no disrespect.
i do know how to ndent . like i said i have a name a idea a concept just need that tech. now getting the money to pay someone is not a prob they just need to be sure what they are doing, would you pay someone for services base on what they know or what their track record is. i m looking for some very unique people. as for losing money wont happen, you get an advance on the project etc, the rest of the capitol is making money so say i pay someone one hundred million or a team more like it for dev best believe that is only about ten percent of the company's cap. now i know some of you would love the opp to do this you just don't have the financial resources i m willing to back that up. as for ms you sound like you want to knock them out the box. why nobody like their product beats me, if you want knock them out the box here's your chance. believe me we can work something out to where everyone's happy me you the bank and the people that will be purchasing this OS. i m very serious about this just want people with the write credentials. i m shopping around right now and i know i m gonna find the team i need how does 25 mill per dev per year sound, and part owner ship? i need four dev's that's it we can negotiate owner ship when time comes. love to hear back from some of you.

Re: os dev needed
Your not using the enter key because you don't want to loose the 1/2 a second that it would take to press enter key because your not being paid for it...
*drops over laughing* , seriously?
He asked for a billion dollars, because you wouldn't give us any ownership and he was quoting for a one man dev (I think...)
The thing is today, it's very hard to get people to change OS, because their already hard set in their ways, changing OS requires retraining, so at best, all you can really make, if you want it to be taken up on any sort of time frame, it needs to be a clone (User interface and executable running ability wise....)
25mill whats? rupees? (No offense to any Indians...)

You should toss this request to Rent-A-Coder.com, someone there will be more than obliged to help you I am sure. Just expect to have a bit of your dreams smashed with Voice Recognition not being as cool as you think or as reliable as you think, and the one icon to rule them all is just weird, why? You have no idea how hard it is to do what you are asking, that is why you are getting bad posts in return. However, let this one be a good one for you, one that encourages you to keep trying, but somewhere else. Good Luck.
