i have to work at the moment, and before this i had exams... so i have very little free time at the moment.

i go through phases where i am very into my project though, and at times (just before xmas) i was coding for about 4 hours a day, and reading up for about another 4.

Do you mean time spent actually coding or time spend staring bewildered at the screen wondering why in the world it doesn't work like you told it to? :) I Voted for 1-2 hours. Sometimes I do more, sometimes less. some days I do none at all. It just depends on the rest of my schedule.

I code about 3 hours per day. But I use the PC about for 5 hours.

Some days I don't code and some days, when I'm with my girlfriend, I half-code :D .

I code about 1-2 hours a day...
I look like I code more, but most of the time I'm just messing around.

I code for about 1-2 hours on normal work days, but on days off I spend approx 3-4 hours coding. It's not a rediculous amount, but I wish I could be more efficient with my time and cut it down some.

I'm coding mine in ASM, so in general it's going to take more hours -- but I need it to be "fully" functional ASAP, so I'm pouring hours into it. Many days 9 to 14 hours, some days 6, a very few days 0-1. Probably averaging 8 to 9 since last winter.

why do you 'need' it to be fully functional this instant?

Because this OS is a means to an end -- not an end in itself. I need the OS "done" and out of the way at some point, so I can get on to my other projects.

I tried to be realistic so I put 2 to 5 hours but it can sometimes be more than that but for a while there I wasnt doing any coding. Im actually needing to be careful atm because I smoke and a while back there was getting chest pains , but I think that is as much to do with sitting to long without a break. Not sure whether it was anything to worry about , it wasnt like agonizing but at the same time it was pretty uncomfortable lol

In regards to the coding, I kinda go through phases, usually when I get started I get a burst of enthusiasm and I go read and mess about with code trying to learn for months and months on end, kinda over do it when I see I am getting someplace in these phases :) then I probably over do it so much I stop for a month if that then rinse repeat hehe, either way I look at it in the perspective that every time I do this Im learning something new(In reality its usually a hell off alot of new stuff and as much as I dont like the fact google is part of sensoring information at times well its still by far my primary learning resource although I would like to see some competition in the search engine front but I think google is too far ahead)

Hi,

Over week I code about 4 hours. At weekend or vacation I somethings code the whole day that is I guess about 10 hours (I still need time for sleeping, eating, etc ;) ). But this is only sometimes.
