All off topic discussions go here. Everything from the funny thing your cat did to your favorite tv shows. Non-programming computer questions are ok too.

In fact I believe Taiwan has the best possibilities to spy on other countries. They can put the spyware in you network card. ;)

World domination for Taiwan!!! :D
I would have thought most are made in China.

I know that Taiwan is leading in Semiconductor and Bicycle technology. Wikipedia also says they are leading in Biotechnology.

So I looked at some of my old hardware:
2* Ram 64MB IBM -> HYUNDAI KOREA
Ram 64MB Infineo -> USA
Pentium 3 SL52R-> Malay
Modem 64k -> USRobotics could be from the USA
Seagate ST32111A Harddisk with 2.1 GB -> China
Stingray Pro GFX from Hercules -> some chips are from Korea and the Warranty lable is from China. At last is reads "WARRANTY LABEL \n MADE IN CHINA" :D
100/10 MBit Network PCMCIA Card -> Taiwan
AMD K5 PR133 -> Malaysia
Pentium MMX -> Malay
S3 Trio32 GFX -> Taiwan
GeForce4 MX440 -> Taiwan
3Com 100MBit Network card -> Irland
Seagate ST-157a-1 Harddisk with ~42 MB -> Thailand
Accton 10MBit Network card with BNC and RJ45-> Taiwan
ATI RAGE PRO TURBO -> Made in China but the Chip is labeled Taiwan
etc...

I think the circuit boards and electrice standard components are from China but the Semiconductor stuff comes often from Taiwan.
