yes have lot of choices here , r u aiming a single pass or 2 pass assembler or a MacroProcessor Integrated one pass assembler . The most easiest to build is the 2 pass assembler . Writing an assembler is not very enjoyable ,it is somewhat a brain dead work . I have written all the tree types of assembler for a hypothetical machine --- It is a boring activity :( . But you may find it interesting , Also take a look at Systems Programming , by Leoland S Buck .
