OOXML aproved

It's officially a sad day for the IT industry. Microsoft OOXML has officially been approved as an ISO standard. Here the statement from ISO confirming it

Like somebody on slashdot pointed out: "Does anybody else find it ironic that the document describing OOXML's ISO adoption is in PDF format"

Well... we live in a time where some big company (I won't tell any names ) can **** up standards. But thats not the the bad part. The bad Part is that I think EVERYBODY, yes FUCKING EVERYBODY involved knows what really is happening.

In the End the ooxml stuff isnt a new standard. The ISO is a new non-standard.


I want to live some 100 Years and read the History books of this century. :B

microsoft can't use it officially until June because until that time it is allowed to submit a complain.
Example: Norway has slight internal problem - Norway voted for standart but internal Norway voting was against and norway asked their government to perform internal investigation.

It looks like although Microsoft has gotton to the next stage (OOXML is still not published as an ISO standard), it looks like Microsoft has loss more than it has won:

I really don't know what OOXML is but seeing those headlines makes me very happy.
