I once looked at the terms of agreement of one. In essence I would allow them give away my emailaddress and send spam. Since then I boycot all that stuff.

I do have a facebook accout, but i rarely use it.
Once in a while i recieve an email telling me that someone i have lost contact with wants to add me as a friend and that kinda nice. It's more likely to meet old friend on face book than on the street.
I have a Facebook account that I hardly use too. It gets annoying have tons of emails from it saying people at school have thrown a bloody chicken at me or given me a werewolf bite! I don't care!
So, I won't join, and I won't even have an account on practically any other social networking site.
