The word you should have used in that phrase is "out", not off. ;)

I'll repeat myself... just so everyone is clear ;).

The books including shipping are paid for by Intel! 8).... Free!.

It says on the order page that you have to include your phone number in the request. Does anyone actually do this? If yes, have they ever phoned you?

Also, can I put all the requests into one email rather than a separate one for each?

My email to them:
I wrote:Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like, if I may, to request a printed copy of some of your literature, namely:

SKU #253665 - Intel 64 and IA32 Software Dev Manual 1
SKU #253666 - Intel 64 and IA32 Software Dev Manual 2A
SKU #253667 - " " 2B
SKU #253668 - " " 3A
SKU #253669 - " " 3B

Name: James Molloy

Company: Transitive Ltd.

Mailing Address:
****

Telephone number: ****

Thank you very much,

James Molloy
And that did it. They never phoned me, but I did give them my number. (With UK dialing code)

I didn't include my phone number ;)

They are "very" nice, the rules aren't strictly enforced at all.. 8)

It's as if they're happy to provide books to anyone willing to take them. :)

I gave my company name, address and phone number. They could have contacted me there, but they didn't.

I've decided the books look quite pretty on their shelf. Does anybody know if Intel have any other book sets they give away for free? I've looked through the Intel site, but it doesn't seem to be so. I would have thought the books for their other processor lines would also have had been available.

I've just reordered the manuals as i didn't get nothing but an autoreply the first time. This time I got two autoreplys, i guess that means that there is twice as big a chance that nothing will happen?

Anyway, I should get a proper reply the 24th, or so it was promised.

I only ever got auto replies. One to confirm the order, and one to say the books had shipped. No actual person ever sent me an email.

Well I haven't got any confirmation. I keep wondering if I'm using the right e-mail address...

Don't keep spamming them. They send their confirmation pretty much one day before you recieve the books. The shipping order arrives just as the guy is knocking on your door!

Don't spam them, it is a monitored address... a nice lady helped me obtain my books, just treat the process as if someone is buying you a beer... don't demand free wings! ;)

Play nice.. be patient.. your orders are likely queued.. :)
