Great job, a few things, though:
Always test your code on Firefox for ultimate browser compatibility. Never consider what IE thinks of your code as anything other than noise.
Also, it seems people here aren't too smart... best to find a DHTML forum. I myself prefer XHTML and Javascript DOM (which I believe is DHTML, but without any IE support).
That's my two cents.

hi
WOS was only a crazy idea i got when i was working on a drag and drop script for my job
I know there is some incompatibilities with firefox (ghost iframes) but this is not because of code incompatibilities, it's a little problem in firefox (the same problem exists with TinyMCE when used in mambo)

I know a bit about DHTML, and a lot about HTML, PHP, and Javascript ^_^
If this is still an ongoing project of yours, e-mail me, and I'll be glad to help!

A long time ago (~4 years) I created a web-based 'OS' of sorts all in Javascript/HTML with movable/shrinkable windows that when activated would come to the top.. I had a 'notepad' and a calculator along with a pseudo-taskbar on the bottom and such.
it was pretty fun.
