News on .NET-based OS projects
I saw this article today on Ars Technica. Are the developers working on these projects members of this forum? Just curious...
Top three reasons why my OS project died:
- Too much overtime at work
- Got married
- My brain got stuck in an infinite loop while trying to design the memory manager

Yup, I'm surprised you didn't scroll down OS Design & Theory and find a thread labeled ".Net OS".
My OS is Perception.
lol I remember that thread.
I also remember a very heated discussion about it.

Heh... To be honest I was too lazy to go trawling through that entire thread again. But I found at least one name (LogicalError).MessiahAndrw wrote:Yup, I'm surprised you didn't scroll down OS Design & Theory and find a thread labeled ".Net OS".
I wish I had the time to work on my own OS, let alone one that's getting noticed by the tech press...

The secret to success in to underpromise and overdeliver. Unfortunately this is often used in reverse when people promise their product will cure cancer, solve world hunger, and bring world piece when realistically the only things new in the latest release are a refurbished interface and 2 new shortcuts.Colonel Kernel wrote:I wish I had the time to work on my own OS, let alone one that's getting noticed by the tech press...

I didn't know the appropriate place to post this, but Singularity has made a public release (including source): http://www.codeplex.com/singularity
