Ok, i know this doesnt belong on this site at all, but before i go register on alot of weird forums to get help, i tought i would ask here first.
I am the proud owner of a brand new nokia 6300. I would like to test some video on it, but its not exactly my area od expertise.
The manual this list of compatiple formats: MP3, MP4, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, H.263 og H.264 and where to go from there i really dont know. I was going to use virtualdub to resize the videos, but without know which codecs and stuff i can use, its really hard. All i really know is that my screen resolution is 240*320.
So if you know something about this subjec, please give me a hint or two.

MP4 probably refers to the MPEG-4 "container format", and according to Wikipedia, several video codecs can be used - H.264 being the most common.
There is an open source encoder and decoder available it seems:
http://www.videolan.org/developers/x264.html --Encoder.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libavcodec --Decoder.
I think other formats can be used as well... you should try reading a few Wikipedia articles or searching Google.
Good luck.

Why use a commercial program when you have so much free alternatives?
For converting formats, I use SUPER:
http://www.stahuj.centrum.cz/multimedia ... ]=built+22
It can, of course, resize the video, set the screen ratio (16:9, 4:3), and it supports many file formats (3GP, MOV, AVI, AMR, MPEG, etc) and much more.
