How well do you program?

All off topic discussions go here. Everything from the funny thing your cat did to your favorite tv shows. Non-programming computer questions are ok too.

On rare occasions when it compiles with no errors on the first try, I stare in disbelief for a few seconds. Wink
Yeah, I usually run the compiler again to see if it messed up or was being too nice to me or something.

I think that most coders would be too modest to answer this question...I know that I am... :-k

I think i am not a natural programmer, as i useally do best in more manual subjects, eg: engineering, woodwork, art etc.
So i have to work much harder to get to a stage where most coder would find it easy.
But if i set myself a task, than i will achieve it, even if i have to work 4 times as hard.

So at best i will be OK standard to get the job done.

What a difficult question to answer.

I'd been programming since 12 then I got to college and realized I wasn't any good. Then I graduated and thought I was good and started working and realized I wasn't good. Got pretty good at work and figured I was good. Then started school again and realized I wasn't good.

I assume this is some sine like wave that will continue for the rest of my life. The plus being if I feel stupid just wait and I won't feel stupid anymore. The minus being if I don't feel stupid, then just wait.

I mean we all have to times when we look at something and go, "Now that's awesome. I'm smarter than I thought." Then there are other times when we go, "What was I thinking?"
Thanks for all the fish.
