Icons that I made
Icons that I made
I was bored so I made some Icons with Gimp. I will make more later.
The weird thing is that I don't really know how to use Gimp.
I know I didn't do very well on them.

Feedback, I suppose.Craze Frog wrote:Sorry, but then why did you post them?I know I didn't do very well on them.
The file icons are the better of the icons in the pack. The rest need more contrast, like a darker border to seperate them from the background. Perhaps you should pick a small colour palette (3-4 colours) and base all the icons around those (and their shades) to get a consistent look.

The best icon set I have seen so far - not on an absolute scale, but when compared to contemporary work - was the MagicWB set for the Amiga. It used a fixed 8-color palette and a very consistent style.

Much of the work that came after that was more focussed on showing off leet gfx sk177z or coming up with yet another "style", resulting in people having dozens of different icon styles on a single desktop... yuck.

Every good solution is obvious once you've found it.
