book request

Post by blound »

I have been looking for books on pci, pci-e, usb, and firewire. I realize there are many guides/howtos online but i was hoping people could recommend books on these topics.

I found these books on pci and pci-e

http://www.amazon.com/PCI-System-Archit ... 166&sr=8-2
http://www.amazon.com/PCI-Express-Syste ... 166&sr=8-3

that seem to match what i want but not exactly the same for usb/firewire

I found

http://www.amazon.com/USB-Complete-Ever ... 261&sr=1-1
http://www.amazon.com/USB-Design-Exampl ... 261&sr=1-4

these books for usb but they do not seem to have good reviews or be very in depth.

Anyway the point of this post was hoping people could recommend good books on pci{-e} , usb, firewire or maybe a very good hardware book that covers all of these thoroughly

thanks

The only book I know that covers them is "Linux Device Drivers" - which basically is only useful if you let the actual handling be done by the existing kernel parts.

I would just stick with the specifications (you could count them as books if you have a printed version )
