festival 0.1 alpha 1

Post by jtlb »

A few friends and are trying do create one more operating sytem called festival. We develop it on sf.net and launchpad.net/festival-os. We released a first alpha version which can almost nothing for the moment! Could please add it to the project page? and look at it?
if you would like to help us you are welcome, it's so hard to do everything from nothing, I think it's a kind of art to make an OS!
homepage: http://festival.sf.net (still under development)
what do you think about it?

Hi,

I've added your project to the list, and have cribbed the description from your buzz-phrase on the home page. Just one point - the flags on the first web site page only take you through to the main site if you click on the text - they appear like it should work if you click on the flag image. I'm using IE7 and FireFox.

Good luck with the OS! I'll have a look at it when I get a chance.

Cheers,
Adam

I noticed - got an edit conflict :(

Added some extra info though...

Oops - was that my fault? I haven't edited much on the wiki before. Don't know if there's any way I could have avoided it...

Your English keyboard layout is messed up:
I type | I get
-------|-------
q | a
a | q
m | ,
, | ;
; | m
w | z
z | w
. | :
: | M
' | .
So.....yeah. It made it hard to type.

Its not your fault - we both decided to add the entry add the same time. You were the first to submit so I got the "sorry, you lose" message and had to do everything again. Boring work. :(

i'm sorry but i'm only supporting the french layout for the moment :? I have a problem: i use arrays to handle the layouts declared like this: layout[3][93], i wanted to access it by using a pointer to be able to switch from a layout to another but i got compilation errors... Do you think i should enable the american layout by default and release a corrected version? or if you find a way to solve my problem it would be great! for the moment, i think i will copy the layout to another array using memcpy and use the copy. Thanks for your answers.

for the website: i have no problem with firefox but it doesn't work well with IE.

Website wise, looks great on opera. A few of your translations are slightly off but I can get the gist of it ;)

I didn't test your system as you said on your website it uses the zxcbvb layout instead of qwerty (note: I forgot what the layout was actually called so i just pushed my hand on the keyboard.)

I thought it would confuse me! ;)
